Bob Bowden Aspen custom home contractor and his dedicated team of interior designers, architects and project managers worked tirelessly to create not just a home, but a living experience. They are proud to present one of the most elevated living experiences ever created in Aspen.
The focus was on blending the indoor and outdoor living areas with the surrounding landscape. The centerpiece of this effort is a 35 feet wide glass wall that opens to a covered deck complete with multiple seating areas, a complete outdoor kitchen that can make any gourmet meal, entertainment centers, multiple fireplaces, and panoramic unobstructed views of the Elk Mountain Range and all its majesty. The living experience this creates is something that literally elevates the quality of a family’s life. Beyond the outdoor entertaining area are two ponds with cascading waterfalls further enhancing the majesty of the view and surroundings. The ski report you get from your own telescope may be the most accurate one available.
The home takes advantage of the water rights and installed a geothermal heating and cooling system. While the air temperature swings dramatically from summer to winter, the ground absorbs nearly half of the solar energy our planet receives. As a result, the earth remains at a constant, moderate temperature just below its surface all year round.
Moving inside to the 13,000 plus square feet of luxury living space you will find not only 7 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms but a great room with two fireplaces and a grand piano. This great room shares the same views as the outdoor living space, spanning from Sopris Mountain to Independence pass and the continental divide. There is of course a full bar and entertaining area for when the winter nights keep you inside entertaining guests. The master suite is the size of a small apartment with its own living space and a master bath worthy of a destination spa.
The interior was cultivated by the talented Aspen interior design team at Aspen Design Room, by working in collaboration with Bob Bowden and his architect team from the beginning the texture and color palate transition perfectly from the structure of the home to the furnishings. For example the rich dark wood tones used in the wide panel floorboards and kitchen cabinets are mirrored in the armoire in the master bedroom. The stone texture in the dueling fireplaces is matched in the draperies that adorn the massive windows in the great room. Cream colored walls are complimented by cream upholstered couches and chairs, these contrast the dark wood tones masterfully. Working in concert with the architecture and building teams the ADR team is able deliver a home that feels completely unified in every way.
Once complete the real estate division took over and started the marketing and sales process of this custom home. Even during the financial recession, this home sold by the Bowden Properties Aspen team in early 2010 for a record setting $24.5 million. Once again the seamless team work resulting from the collection of Bowden Companies working together delivered.
